1. How to Start A Design
Fotor provides dozens of design dimensions for templates ranging over a wide variety of occasions. Just click “Design” to get started.
Select the template you want or choose Custom Size to start your design.
Note: You can customize the width and height and change the unit of measure under Custom Size.

2. Search Templates
Fotor helps you find what you need quickly by initiating a search.
2.1. Click “Find Templates” on the lower left side of the screen. The Explore Templates page will be displayed and you can enter the keyword(s) for the template you’re searching for in the Search.
2.2. Or you can enter the keywords for templates you want to search for in the Search box located in the top right corner, and enter the Explore Page directly. For example, search for “New Year”.
2.3. Or you can enter a single dimension and search the templates on the left hand side.
3.1. Add Text
Click the “Text” icon on the left hand navigation, then click on the heading your require, and the text is added to your template where you can manipulate it.
3.2. Change Font Color
Select the text, click the Color Palette, click on the color of your choice, and the text is rendered in the new color. Alternatively, you can use the color picker, or enter a color value to to modify the text color directly.
3.3. Change Font
Select the text you want to change, click the Font drop-down menu and select your desired font.
3.4. Change Font Size
Click on the text box, click on the Font Size drop-down menu and select your font size, or enter the number of your desired font size.
TIP: You can also drag the text box through the mouse ball to adjust the text size (gif)
Select the text you want to align, click the Text Alignment drop-down and select your alignment.
3.6. Text Decoration: Bold, Italic, Caps, Underline
Select the text you want to format, click on the Text Decoration drop-down menu and select the formatting options you require. You can bold, tilt, underline the text and make other adjustments. You also can use the uppercase function, one tap to capitalize the text. Click outside the text box to deselect it.
3.7. Spacing: Letter Spacing, Vertical Spacing
Use this function to adjust the space between characters and/or lines space. (GIF) Select the text you want to apply spacing too, click on the Text Formatting drop down menu, select Spacing, and adjust the Letter Spacing and/or Vertical Spacing sliders accordingly.
3.8. Text Background
Select the text box where you wish to apply a background, click on the Text Formatting drop-down menu, click on Enable Background, set the Enable Background switch to On, and add your background color by clicking on a color in the color palette.
3.9. Text Rotation
Select the text box you wish to rotate, and hover your mouse over the text box handle, when the mouse displays a hand shape, press down on the handle and rotate your text. (GIF)

4.1. Search and Upload Stickers
Fotor provides you with a range of Stickers that include: Image Shape, Basic Shapes, Lines, Illustrations, and Icons. You can also Search for additional stickers in accordance with your needs.
You also have the option to upload your own stickers and use them. Click on Use Your Own and follow the instructions to upload your stickers. They will be stored in your Fotor Cloud album synchronously.
4.2. Image Shape
Fotor provides you with a vast variety of Image Shapes. You can use them to alter the shape of any image as follows:
Click the Image Shape you want and it is added to your canvas.
Click Import Image, and upload your own photos.
Use your mouse to hold and drag your image into image shape, release your mouse.
You also can double click the image to further adjust it, such as add effects, flip, zoom and other options. Hold and drag your image to change the viewable area in the image shape.
4.3. Change Sticker Colors
You can change the color of Basic Shapes by clicking on a Basic Shape that has been added to the canvas, and applying a color from the Color Palette to your shape. The color box on the upper left is corresponding to different color of stickers.
You can change the color of stickers as follows:
Choose the color in palette
Use the color picker to pick the color of canvas;
Input the number of color, press Enter key to apply the color.
4.4. Sticker Edge
Some stickers (Basic Shapes, Banners, etc.) support the Edge feature. Select a sticker on your canvas, then click the Edge button. You can add a to your sticker, alter the thickness, type of line, and color of the sticker edge.
4.5. Rotation and Flip
Select a sticker on the canvas, click the Flip tool and Rotate and/or Flip your sticker accordingly.
4.6. Rotate a Sticker
Select a sticker on the canvas, drag the arrow above the sticker, as depicted in the image below, to rotate the sticker.
You can also drag your mouse over multiple stickers and draw a selection box around them to simultaneously select them all. Drag the handle above individual stickers to rotate them. (GIF)
4.7. Add Stickers to “My Favorites”
You can collect your favorite stickers. Hover your mouse over a sticker in the Stickers Panel, a gold star will appear in the top right corner of the image with the phrase “Add to My Favorites”. Click on the Gold Star and your sticker is saved to “MY FAVORITES”.
Stickers saved to “My Favorites” will be shown on “MY FAVORITE”. Click on stickers in “My Favorites” to add them to your canvas.
To delete a sticker from your collection, hover your mouse over the sticker and click the Gold Cross.
5. More Tools
Select your text or a sticker, click the Shadow tool located on the tool bar and switch Drop Shadow to On to enable it. Click on the Color of your choice for the Shadow. You also can adjust the opacity, blur, distance and angle of the shadow.
Select your text or stickers, click the Transparency Tool located on the right-hand side of the tool bar, and adjust the slider to your desired transparency.
Select your text or stickers, click the Layers Tool located on the right-hand side of the tool bar, adjust the display of your elements by moving Layers accordingly.
5.4. Lock Elements
Select the elements you wish to lock, and click the Lock icon located on the right hand side of the tool bar. This locks the selected elements, preventing the unexpected or unintended mishap. You can still perform operations on layers that have locked elements.
To unlock an element, click on the desired item, the click the Lock icon. Your selected element will be unlocked.
6.1. Change Background Color
Click the Background feature on the left hand navigation. You can change the background to a color of your choosing by clicking any color in the panel.
6.2. Set Image as Background
You can set an image as the background.
Note: When the background design is an image, not a color, changing the Background Color appears ineffective since the Background Image completely masks the Background Color. However, if you Move or Delete the Background Image, the Background Color is made visible.
Cloud saves your uploaded or edited photos to the cloud so that you can access your photos and work with them anytime, anywhere throughout Fotor.
When you are logged in, uploaded your images using the methods outlined below saves them to your Cloud.

The General user is given 50M of free storage capacity on the Cloud. The Fotor VIP is given 500M of free storage capacity on the Cloud album.

9.1. Add Colors to “My Favorites”
Click the Star icon located next to the selected color box, and the selected color is saved to My Favorites displayed at the bottom of the panel.
All “Favorite” colors are displayed under “My Favorites”
To delete My Favorite colors click on the star icon at the end of the display. An “x” appears on each color. Click a box marked with an “x” to delete it. Click elsewhere on the color panel to turn delete mode off.
9.2. Color Picker
You can use the Color Picker to select colors from the canvas.
Select the element you want to change, click the Color Picker, click on the color you desire within the canvas and it will be your selected color.
10.1. Group and Ungroup(GIF)
You can select multiple elements by clicking, then dragging your mouse around a group of objects to draw a selection box. Once your group of elements is selected, click Group to create a single object out of your selection. The group of objects can now be operated on as a single group. You can drag, rotate, and adjust the transparency and layers of each object within a group simultaneously.
Select the grouped object, and click Ungroup to restore a group to separate elements.
Click the mouse and select multiple elements by drawing a selection box, around them. Click on the Distribute tool , select the type of distribution you wish applied to the selected elements.
Click your mouse on the canvas and draw a selection box around multiple elements. Once your elements are selected, click on the Align tool, and select the alignment attribute that applies to your selected content.
10.4. Rotate and Flip
Click your mouse on the canvas and draw a selection box around multiple elements. Once your elements are selected, click on the Rotate tool and select the rotation and/or flip you require.
11. Multiple Pages
11.1. What Are Multiple Page Templates
The bottom right corner displays the number of pages within a multi-page Template.
11.2. Add, Copy and Delete Pages
In the right-hand panel, click + Add page to add a page to your design. Pages are added sequentially in miniature or thumbnails in the panel below. Hover your mouse over a thumbnail in the panel, and icons to Copy or Delete appear at the top of the thumbnail. Click the Copy icon to copy the thumbnail page; Click the Delete icon to remove both the thumbnail and its associated page.
12. How to Resize Template
You can modify the size of the template using Resize.
13. Sync, Preview and Change the File Name
The design template is automatically uploaded to the Fotor Cloud. You can click the Sync button on the top nav to synchronize templates manually.
You can view and edit your designs in My Work.
Click the “Preview” button to preview how exactly how your design will look.
13.3. Change the File Name
14.1. Saving Format
Fotor Online Program gives you three Save formats: JPG, PNG and 300 dpi HD PDF (Collage and Design). You can select which format you wish to save your file in.
14.2. Save in High Quality Mode
When saving, choose to save as HD quality at “Quality”. Fotor Online Program provides you with 300dpi HD PDF format for you to print.
14.3. Save with Transparent Background
With png selected, you can check the Transparent Background option and your file will be saved with a background that is transparent.
Note: The Transparent Background feature is not supported when saving files with the HD PNG format, or multi-page files.
